Make your pictures funky!

Photo editing, Pic editor
Here I am going to be sharing with you a little about a great website I found recently. I am sure many people already know about this but I am sure there are just as many people that don't. The website is called befunky.com and acts as a kind of photo effects slash photoshop online application. You can upload your photos and edit them, adding interesting effects and changing details. Which I will explain below.
When it comes to photo editing people often think about expensive software, hours of learning and a lot of hard work. This website cuts all of that out. Allowing editing a photo to become as easy as playing a game.
This free web service is a great way to not only create some great images out of your home photos or digital images but you can also make some amazing display pictures or "avatars" for community profiles, Facebook, Twitter or even Hubpages!
Below I go into detail about the six main features on the website, this is the best online service i have used in a while. I was going to feature the others I found but to be honest none really compare to this one.
How to edit pictures
So why don't we dive in and explore its features!
For the sake of example I am going to be using a random image I got on Google. To start, click on the big “Get started” button
How to edit pictures
Now you need to choose your image and upload it clicking the upload button in the top right.
How to edit pictures
Once you have uploaded you will be met with an interface like the one in the image blow. We will be looking at all six areas in detail.
This web service allows you to photo edit, like you would in a downloaded bit of software.
How to edit pictures
Editing:
Now this is not as in depth as the likes of photoshop but it is a lot of fun and I am sure anyone who spends more than 10 seconds per image for the sake of writing an article will be able to create some really good quality edits.
Using the editing tool you can:
-
Crop the picture
-
Rotate and flip it
-
Resize
-
Brightness/contrast changes
-
Exposure
-
Hue/saturation
-
Colour filter
-
Temperature
-
Sharpen
-
Blur filter
-
Enhance detail
-
Smooth
-
Highlights/shadows
-
Duotone
That sounds like a lot right! Well that is because it is, but like all things it pays to have a play around and see what you can do. You can always just start over with the original image if you make something you really don't like!
How to edit pictures
Next we will be taking a look at the photo effects on offer. These can be used to add instant effects and auras to your images.

-
Oilpainting
-
Pointillism
-

Add goodies!
I don't feel I need to go into great detail about this as it really is child's play. You select the various masks, icons, flags and so on and stick them all over your picture!

Adding text:
Finally, adding text. This is a very simple option in which you can add a little text to your image. Nothing you can't do on normal paint on a windows machine but it is still nice to have the option on befunky!
My final attempt!
Add frames!
This is a nice little feature which allows you to add a bit of style to your digital image. By adding a frame, there are many to choose from. Personally I really liked the postage option!
-
Basic border
-
Rounded corner
-
Drop shadow
-
Postage
-
Instant
-
Grunge frames
-

-
Ornamental frames
-

Funky and FUN! I enjoy playing around with graphics and I like what you have shown here. I'm certainly going to give befunky.com a try. Thanks for the tips!
voted up! Bookmarking too!
Thanks for this resource -- you don't need an expensive program when something like this is available online. To me, though, funky pictures start with the pose. Get your subject to do something other than just stand there and stare into the camera. Voting this Up and Useful.
You are the best of finding creative websites and sharing the fun with your fellow hubbers! WTG Rob!!
I like the artsy effects option. I will have to look at this site. The one I use now doesn't have so many different effects - just the basics. You really look like you had a lot of fun with this. Great!

This is really neat! I've been wanting to download gimp for my newer laptop (b/c I do NOT want to pay for photoshop) but perhaps I won't have to! Thanks for sharing this site. :)
Very nice job, my friend. I used to do a lot of photography before the digital age. This is a great hub!!!
